A Missouri woman has pleaded guilty to a federal charge connected to a scheme that sought to defraud the family of Elvis Presley out of millions of dollars. The case centers around an alleged plot involving the iconic Graceland estate.
Lisa Jeanine Findley entered her plea in a federal court on Tuesday. She faces sentencing on June 19 after admitting to a charge of mail fraud. Initially, she had pleaded not guilty to a two-count indictment. However, the count of aggravated identity theft against her will be dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Prosecutors revealed that Findley falsely asserted that Presley’s daughter had borrowed $3.8 million from a phantom private lender. According to authorities, she claimed that Graceland was pledged as collateral for the loan prior to the daughter’s passing in January 2023.
