On Wednesday, officers from the Federal Protective Service responded to concerns about potential protests within Nadler’s district office located in Manhattan. During this time, a protest was underway outside an immigration courthouse that shares a building with the congressman’s office.

A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security stated that officers were prompted to act due to previous disturbances at nearby facilities. Their main focus was to ensure the safety and wellbeing of federal employees present at the location.

Escalation During Security Check

Upon entering the office, officers encountered four individuals. They made their presence known and stated their purpose was to conduct a security check. However, one individual reacted defensively, verbally confronting the officers and physically obstructing their access to the office.

The spokesperson confirmed that, in light of the circumstances, officers detained the individual in the hallway to complete their security assessment. All individuals involved were later released without further issues.
