Prominent real estate brokers Tal and Oren Alexander, alongside their brother Alon, appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Friday, pleading not guilty to significant charges including conspiracy to sexually assault women across multiple states. Authorities revealed that over 60 alleged victims have come forward with accusations against the brothers, highlighting the widespread nature of the alleged misconduct.
The Alexander brothers, aged 38 and 37 respectively, faced U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni, dressed in tan, short-sleeved prison uniforms. They confront serious charges, including one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and another count of sex trafficking involving a woman under force, fraud, or coercion. Tal has been additionally charged with the sex trafficking of a second victim.
If convicted, the brothers could face life in prison, a chilling prospect that underscores the severity of the allegations.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Espinosa stated that investigators have interviewed more than 60 individuals who reported being sexually assaulted by at least one of the Alexander brothers. This is a substantial increase from earlier estimates of 40 victims, illustrating the breadth of the investigation.
Federal authorities conducted a thorough examination of digital evidence linked to the brothers. They delved into iCloud accounts, as well as Instagram and Facebook profiles. Additional scrutiny extended to dating app accounts owned by Oren and Alon, with Alon also working as an executive in a security firm.
During searches of their residences in New York and Miami, investigators uncovered various digital devices, including 19 items such as laptops, iPads, hard drives, thumb drives, and SD cards. The authorities also recovered a Motorola cellphone and an Apple Watch, which could further bolster their case.
At the Friday court hearing, the brothers were supported by their parents and Oren’s wife. Currently, the Alexander brothers are being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, sharing space with high-profile figures like Sean
