CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently hinted that the statute of limitations may not hinder prosecutions against key figures linked to the long-running Russiagate controversy. During an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures with host Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe suggested that critical testimonies underpinning the Trump-Russia collusion narrative took place within the last five years.
The director also hinted at forthcoming evidence that could further illuminate the situation.
Ratcliffe noted significant testimonies from various individuals involved in the narrative. He remarked that John Brennan testified to John Durham in August 2020 and had additional appearances before the House Oversight Committee in 2022. Furthermore, Ratcliffe highlighted that Hillary Clinton gave sworn testimony under Durham’s investigation in 2022. Additionally, James Comey provided testimony to the Senate Committee in September 2020.
According to Ratcliffe, much of this testimony starkly contrasts with intelligence that is anticipated to be declassified soon. He indicated the imminent release of what has been termed the “classified annex” of the John Durham report, which he believes will shed light on these inconsistencies.

Ratcliffe asserted that the upcoming intelligence will reveal the intent behind the Steele Dossier’s inclusion in community assessments and its role in initiating the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

Former prosecutor Andy McCarthy, speaking on Fox News last week, provided insights regarding potential legal actions against former President Barack Obama. McCarthy acknowledged the legal challenges posed by pursuing these accusations but maintained that the original investigation into Russia’s election meddling was legitimate. However, he argued that it was misused as a pretext to scrutinize Trump and undermine his presidency.
“That’s why it’s a terrible political dirty trick,” McCarthy stated. He made it clear that while the investigation had legitimate origins, the real challenges lay in proving its prosecutability. “I just don’t see it,” he concluded.
Former President Obama dismissed the Trump administration’s allegations, describing them as bizarre. Congressional Democrats also responded vehemently to the accusations, categorizing them as unfounded.
Representative Jim Himes, a Democrat from Connecticut and a ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, specifically criticized Gabbard’s comments as baseless. Meanwhile, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, accused Gabbard of misusing her platform to bolster the president’s conspiracy theories concerning the election.
