But to say I was sleeping at that time just wasn’t true. And it also wasn’t a trend. This was the only time it happened.”

Carter was selected third overall in the NFL Draft out of Penn State earlier this year, and he quickly stirred controversy among Giants fans when he expressed his desire to wear the iconic No. 56, previously donned by legendary linebacker Lawrence Taylor. Taylor declined the request.
