Trivius Crouch, a 23-year-old resident, found himself back in custody when authorities doubled his bond on charges related to assault with a deadly weapon. His arrest occurred on October 30 due to allegations of assault on a female, assault by pointing a gun, and injury to personal property, as reported by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Details of the Alleged Summer Incident

Authorities revealed that in July, Crouch approached the family of a woman with whom he shares a child. He tried to speak with her while she was seated inside a vehicle in Charlotte, according to court documents. This encounter quickly turned violent when the woman’s mother intervened.

Reportedly, when Crouch was prevented from reaching the woman, he allegedly began to attack her. The intensity of the situation escalated, leading to further violence.

During the altercation, Crouch’s firearm fell from his waistband. As the confrontation unfolded in the front yard of the residence, he picked up the gun and allegedly fired two shots into the air and one shot into the ground near the victim.

Afterward, he reportedly returned to his vehicle to retrieve a baseball bat. Witnesses claim he used this bat to break into the family’s Mercedes SUV before turning his aggression toward the victim, striking her multiple times in the head, arm, and legs.

As she attempted to evade further harm, the victim described her struggle. According to police reports, Crouch soon fled the scene.

This incident marks Crouch’s ninth arrest within Mecklenburg County. He was taken into custody on October 29, just one day prior to his bond increase related to the assault case.
