A father is taking legal action against a school district in Ohio, asserting that officials unlawfully punished his son for wearing a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ shirt to class. The lawsuit highlights increasing tensions surrounding political expression in educational settings.

The complaint, which has gained attention across the country, argues that the teacher and principal at Madison Middle School in Mansfield violated the student’s First Amendment rights. The suit claims they also infringed on the boy’s 14th Amendment right to due process when he faced disciplinary actions for wearing the shirt on multiple occasions.

First Incident Sparks Controversy

The dispute began in November when the student, identified only as a minor, wore the shirt beneath a flannel prior to class. A teacher, described in the lawsuit as a registered Democrat, intervened by instructing the boy to button up his flannel, expressing knowledge of the shirt’s message.

Later that day, during the same teacher’s class, the boy reportedly removed the flannel due to the classroom temperature. Consequently, the teacher noticed the shirt again and issued a disciplinary
