Outrage Erupts as Illegal Immigrant Allegedly Kills Air Force Cadet

Law enforcement advocates have expressed deep frustration over the recent incident involving an illegal immigrant who is suspected of killing a young Air Force recruit. They are calling attention to what they describe as reckless border policies that allow such tragedies to occur.

Joe Gamaldi, national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police, voiced his disgust upon learning that 18-year-old Ava Moore, a promising Texas native, lost her life at the hands of someone who should not have been in the country. Moore was on the cusp of beginning her cadet training at the United States Air Force Academy.

“How many cases do we need to witness where individuals who should never have been in this country end up causing fatalities or taking the lives of those who are here legally?” Gamaldi questioned. “How many families must be torn apart? How much trauma must we endure from individuals who are not legally here?”

Moore was recognized as an exceptional athlete at the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School in Colorado, with aspirations of becoming a four-star general.

Amidst discussions around the tragedy, Gamaldi criticized open border advocates, expressing disbelief that they watch Americans suffer at the hands of noncitizens. He underscored the rising number of illegal immigrants who have gained entry during the current administration, warning that this may lead to additional American casualties.

“It appears that they completely ignore the crime and chaos that numerous illegal immigrants bring to our neighborhoods,” Gamaldi articulated. “The most frustrating aspect, from the perspectives of law enforcement as well as victims and their families, is that these crimes could have been prevented. How many lives need to be lost before the opposition acknowledges the reality?”

He also condemned judges he classified as radical ideologues for obstructing measures intended to enhance border security and uphold the safety of American citizens.

“These judges are an embarrassment to our nation and a disgrace to their profession. They should resign in shame for the politicization of such grave matters,” he stated emphatically. “Their actions only serve to undermine justice, and I believe that steps should be taken to remove them from their posts.”

Art Del Cueto, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, representing approximately 18,000 Customs and Border Protection agents, echoed Gamaldi’s sentiments, attributing the ongoing issues to inadequate border policies from previous administrations.

“We are witnessing yet another senseless death. Unfortunately, I fear there will be more tragedies to come,” Del Cueto remarked. “We cannot ascertain the total number of individuals residing in the country illegally. While it is possible that other legally residing individuals could commit similar offenses, in this case, it was indeed someone who had no right to be here in the first place. There are too many politicians impeding law enforcement’s ability to carry out their duties effectively.”

The incident has raised serious questions. Daikerlyn Alejandraa Gonzalez-Gonzalez, 22, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, a felony, for allegedly killing Moore while operating a jet ski on Lake Grapevine in Texas. Authorities allege that Maikel Coello Perozo, 21, assisted Gonzalez-Gonzalez in fleeing from the scene and subsequently crashed into another vehicle while trying to escape. He faces charges related to property damage and hindrance of apprehension.

Following the arrest, police discovered packed suitcases at the shared residence of Gonzalez-Gonzalez and Perozo. U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement confirmed their status as illegal immigrants from Venezuela.

The Department of Homeland Security criticized the current administration’s immigration policies, labeling the tragedy as entirely preventable. A spokesperson stated that the responsibility lies with the deliberate failures of policies designed to protect American citizens.

“Ava Moore was a patriot serving her nation when she was killed in a hit-and-run incident by an illegal immigrant. This heartbreaking incident could have been entirely avoided,” they stated. “Gonzalez and Perozo entered the United States without authorization in 2023 and were allowed to remain within the country.”

The statement continued, underscoring the heavy toll that open border policies have taken on American lives. “The prior administration’s lenient border policies have led to the loss of too many American lives, and we will steadfastly support victims of illegal immigrant crimes and their families.”

Moore’s death is far from an isolated occurrence. Past incidents involving illegal immigrants have also led to tragedy. For example, Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, was convicted last year for the murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley while she was on a jog at the University of Georgia. Similarly, Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old from Houston, was reported missing and later found to be the victim of a violent crime committed by two illegal aliens allegedly linked to a gang.

In another case, a New Jersey mother of five, Rachel Morin, was murdered by an illegal immigrant who was found guilty last April. These cases have fueled an ongoing national debate regarding immigration policies and their impact on community safety.

Finding Community Solutions

The string of incidents begs the critical question of how communities, lawmakers, and law enforcement can come together to devise strategies that ensure safety while balancing the need for a fair immigration system. Conversations surrounding immigration, safety, and community integrity must be inclusive and focused on solutions that prioritize American lives without compromising humanitarian principles.

As individuals and organizations engage in these necessary discussions, it remains essential to approach the issue with a comprehensive understanding of the realities faced by both communities at risk and individuals seeking refuge.
