Renowned culinary figure Padma Lakshmi revealed in a recent interview on “The View” that her latest cookbook serves as a direct response to the controversial immigration policies enacted during the Trump administration.
The cookbook, titled “Padma’s All American: Tales, Travels, and Recipes from Taste the Nation and Beyond,” embodies Lakshmi’s personal rebuttal to key figures in the Trump administration, including former White House deputy chief of staff Steve Bannon and senior advisor Stephen Miller, as well as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). Lakshmi articulated her intent, stating that the book embodies a response to the pervasive negativity associated with immigration debates.
Lakshmi expressed a strong belief in the value of immigrants to the fabric of American society. “I believe that immigrants are our treasure and our strength, and they’re what make this country what it is,” she emphasized, while sharing her vision of inclusivity through food.
