This year, the Patriot Awards will not only celebrate the extraordinary contributions of American heroes but also highlight elements of American history embedded in the very trophies they receive. Scheduled for November 6, 2025, at the Tilles Center at LIU Post in Greenvale, New York, the event promises an inspiring tribute to those who selflessly serve the nation.
The 2025 trophies stand out for their unique incorporation of historical materials. They include nails salvaged from George Washington’s Trinity Church, wood from his renowned elm tree, and musket balls recovered from the Revolutionary War. This thoughtful selection of materials aims to deepen the connection to American heritage while honoring the commitment of award winners.
Creators Shane and Justice Henderson, a father-son duo, have taken the lead in crafting this year’s distinguished awards. Shane Henderson, the president of Metal Art of Wisconsin, expressed his astonishment at their creation, saying, “I didn’t think we’d be able to beat it, but my team knocked it out of the park this year.” The Hendersons had previously designed the awards for 2022 and 2024, continually elevating their artistic vision.
This year’s design has metamorphosed into a trophy resembling a flag, radiating the essence of red, white, and blue. The use of nails from Trinity Church, where George Washington worshipped, is particularly significant in the flagpole’s construction. Shane Henderson emphasized the symbolism attached to these materials, stating, “It is infused with nails from Trinity Church in New York City. This is George Washington’s place of worship.”
The church holds historical significance; it was destroyed by fire in 1776. The nails repurposed to form the flagpole symbolize the foundation of faith, upholding the flag and embodying the values it represents. Additionally, a wooden stripe cutting across the center of the flag signifies freedom, sourced from one of the nation’s most famous trees.
“The big one is the commemorative stripe,” Henderson said, referring to the brown line that runs through the award. “This is actual wood inlaid into each award from George Washington’s elm tree. It was under that elm tree that George Washington took command of the Continental Army in 1775.” This intimate connection to a pivotal moment in history deepens the awards’ significance.
The stars adorning the flag represent sacrifice, a testament to the spirit shared by many honorees at the gala. Each star is meticulously crafted from musket balls that were melted down, sourced from the iconic Battle of Yorktown, which marked a crucial turning point in the Revolutionary War.
“We melted them down and cast each star, hand-inlaid with care,” said Henderson, highlighting the dedication involved in creating each trophy. Since their inception in 2019, the Patriot Awards have rapidly become a highly anticipated occasion, celebrating numerous patriots dedicated to serving their country.
The awards recognize a variety of categories including Young Patriot, Heroism, T2T Stephen Siller Award, Most Valuable Patriot, Salute to Service, and the esteemed Patriot of the Year. This year, the honors will also feature a special tribute to the late Charlie Kirk, a revered figure in conservative circles.
Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk, who is also his widow, is expected to attend the event. Notably, First Lady Melania Trump will receive the prestigious Patriot of the Year award, adding a significant highlight to the evening.
This year’s Patriot Awards reflect a profound commitment to not only honoring service but also integrating the history that has shaped the nation. Each trophy encapsulates a part of America’s identity, reinforcing the enduring legacy of those who have shaped its destiny.
With a powerful blend of artistic expression and historical reverence, the Patriot Awards aim to inspire attendees and viewers alike. As the event unfolds, it is clear that the celebration of American patriotism will resonate deeply within the hearts of many, showcasing that the spirit of service thrives in every generation.
