The Department of Homeland Security has announced that it will release selected portions of Prince Harry’s immigration records, albeit with some redactions. This decision comes as part of a continuing legal confrontation regarding the royal’s transition to the United States.
Federal Judge Carl Nichols previously mandated the agency to submit a redacted version of Harry’s immigration file for judicial examination. The objective is to eventually make these records public, as reported by the New York Post.
The legal dispute centers on accusations that the British royal may have misrepresented information on his immigration documents. Additionally, questions arise regarding whether he received preferential treatment when relocating to the U.S. back in 2020. In his memoir titled Spare, released in 2023, Prince Harry acknowledged his past use of illegal substances.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, initiated the lawsuit against the DHS, aiming to uncover whether the 40-year-old prince neglected to disclose his prior drug use on his immigration application.
