Ravens Tackle Ronnie Stanley Reflects on Team’s Remarkable Turnaround After Rocky Start

The Baltimore Ravens faced a challenging beginning to their season, entering their bye week with a disheartening 1-5 record. This performance left their playoff aspirations hanging by a thread.

However, since that low point, the Ravens have experienced an impressive resurgence, winning five consecutive games. They now find themselves tied for the lead in the AFC North, with a crucial matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving night looming on the horizon.

Historically, only four teams in the NFL have managed to recover from a 1-5 start to reach the playoffs, and the Ravens appear poised to become the fifth team to achieve this feat.

After a victory over the New York Jets, All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley shared insights with Fox News Digital. He emphasized that there is no special secret to the team’s revival.

This is Ravens football. Stanley remarked, “I think it’s just playing to our standard, not forgetting who we are or what that standard is.” During the interview, he also mentioned his dedication to community initiatives like My Cause My Cleats, which supports K9s For Warriors and his own Ronnie Stanley Foundation.

Stanley’s comments resonate with the previous sentiments expressed by safety Kyle Hamilton after a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6. Hamilton stated, “Obviously, we’re not in the position we wanted to be in as a team. But if there’s any team that can do it, it’s us. I think that’s the mindset everybody in this building has right now. Players, coaches, and fans are all disappointed with our season’s end results so far.”

Despite the challenges, Hamilton knew there were 11 games remaining, providing a sense of hope and urgency to reset and refocus during the bye week. This break arrived just in time, allowing key players like two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson to recover from injuries. While Tyler Huntley filled in capably during the bye, Jackson is now leading the offense through its winning streak.

Despite Jackson’s return, the Ravens’ offensive production has been somewhat inconsistent. Stanley acknowledged that the team has the potential to achieve more but highlighted the importance of accumulating wins to keep their playoff dreams alive.

Ultimately, Stanley understands that Jackson’s singular focus drives the team’s ambitions. He stated, “His drive is to win a Super Bowl. That’s the only thing. He’s got tunnel vision on that, and that’s been it.”

As the Ravens prepare for the upcoming game against the Bengals, they anticipate facing a determined opponent. Quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to return to the Bengals after recovering from a turf toe injury that required surgery earlier this season. While the Ravens have noted Cincinnati’s defensive struggles, the presence of Burrow in their lineup changes the dynamics of the game.

Looking ahead, Stanley remarked, “There’s lots to look forward to. It’s a division game that we haven’t played yet. It’s going to be a physical contest and a tough game.”

Empowering Veterans Through Community Initiatives

In a powerful demonstration of community support, Stanley has collaborated with USAA, the official Salute to Service partner of the NFL, to highlight his custom cleats worn during a recent game. This initiative centers on the theme of My Paws My Cleats.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about K9s for Warriors, an organization that connects service dogs with veterans in the Baltimore area, in conjunction with the Ronnie Stanley Foundation, which focuses on enhancing the quality of life for rescue dogs and individuals in need.

A video produced as part of this initiative showcases Stanley engaging with three veterans at the Ravens’ training facility. He listened to their personal stories, emphasizing how significantly their service dogs have impacted their lives—both mentally and physically.

Reflecting on the experience, Stanley noted, “It was very cool. This partnership reflects many similarities with what they do and my foundation.” He elaborated on the emotional stories shared by veterans, acknowledging the traumas they endured and the profound effect service dogs have had in aiding their recovery: “Hearing about their journeys and how much these dogs help provide companionship and support is incredibly touching.”

With the Ravens on a winning streak and community initiatives making a significant impact, the future looks promising for both the team and the communities they serve. Baltimore fans are eager to see how their team will perform in the upcoming high-stakes game against their division rival.
