The 52-year-old reality television personality shared his intentions during an interview, revealing his hopes of appealing to President Trump for relief after being sentenced to two years in federal prison.

McBee’s legal troubles stem from a guilty plea related to a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme involving crop insurance. In a discussion with Fox News Digital, he expressed confidence that the situation represents a “trophy prosecution” and a misuse of the Department of Justice, describing it as an overreach.

He stated, “We have the hopes that he will see that this was a trophy prosecution, a complete weaponization of the DOJ and overreach. I’m not saying there wasn’t a clerical mistake made, but it’s so minor.” McBee believes that the legal actions against him reflect misguided priorities, rather than genuine wrongdoing.

“I mean, they have the wrong legal, the wrong aim,” he added. He pointed out the importance of recognizing human error in the context of legal matters, noting that minor mistakes should not warrant severe penalties. He lamented the pressure to generate sensational headlines, saying, “They wanted our name. They wanted that up there. Shock and awe. And it just, it is not fair, and it’s certainly not right.”

In a sentencing hearing held on October 16, McBee was not only sentenced to two years in prison but also ordered to undergo an additional two years of supervised release upon completing his prison term. The court mandated that he pay $4,022,124 in restitution to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency.

McBee faces a deadline of December 1, 2025, to report to the Federal Prison Camp in Yankton, South Dakota. While he is optimistic about receiving a pardon from Trump, he clarified that no formal request has been made as of yet. McBee stated, “We’re getting everything put together. We don’t wanna get the cart ahead of the horse.” He emphasized that his attorney Alan Little will handle the filing of all necessary paperwork before they take further steps.

Despite maintaining their innocence, they received sentences of 12 years and 7 years, respectively, and reported to prison on January 17, 2023.
