REO Speedwagon singer Terry Luttrell suffered injuries in a car accident on Sunday morning after a reunion concert in Champaign, Illinois. State police confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

The 78-year-old singer disclosed to The News-Gazette that he fell asleep at the wheel while driving on Interstate 57. As a result of the crash, Luttrell experienced a cracked sternum due to the deployment of the airbag.

In a phone interview from his hospital room, Luttrell expressed relief at being able to exit the vehicle despite his injuries. He shared, “I was able to get up and get out of the car. The airbag went off and cracked my sternum a little bit. I have a little back pain and neck pain. It’s nothing that can’t be overcome.”
