Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, has publicly announced his remarriage after enduring the loss of his previous wife last year. The congressman revealed that he tied the knot last month and celebrated the occasion with family and friends over the weekend.
Massie is currently campaigning for re-election against a primary challenger supported by former President Donald Trump. In a post shared on X, he shared the news that he and his new wife, Carolyn Grace Moffa, were legally married on October 19.
He wrote, “Carolyn and I would like to announce our recent marriage! We were legally married in Kentucky on October 19th by the pastor of the church we have been attending for several months. This weekend we celebrated with close friends and family at a Christian wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania, where Carolyn is from.”
Massie reflected on his relationship with Moffa, stating, “Carolyn Grace Moffa and I first met professionally over a decade ago when she worked for Senator Rand Paul. As Senator Paul’s Ag policy staffer until 2016, Carolyn was a very early proponent and practitioner of Making America Healthy Again.” He added that Moffa had visited his farm in the past, further highlighting the depth of their connection.
The congressman also mentioned that Moffa had not been married before and spoke fondly of his late wife, Rhonda, who he described as the love of his life and a wonderful mother to their four children.
During the wedding festivities, several notable lawmakers attended. Massie listed attendees including Senator Rand Paul and Representatives Jim Jordan, Warren Davidson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Victoria Spartz. The congressman humorously noted that the real stars of the day were his three grandchildren, with his eldest grandson serving as the ring bearer.
Massie shared some enjoyable details from the celebration: “Of course, we served raw milk with the wedding cake and margaritas made with frozen peaches from our farm! I proposed to Carolyn on the steps of the Library of Congress, which was the location of our first date,” he remarked.
Looking ahead, Massie expressed gratitude and hopes for support as he continues his political journey. He stated, “Please pray for us as Carolyn steps into the arena with me. With her support, I look forward to continuing my fight for freedom for the great people of Kentucky!” This heartfelt plea shows his commitment not only to his new wife but also to his constituents.
In June 2024, Massie had publicly mourned the passing of his wife Rhonda. He shared an emotional tribute via a post, recalling his deep affection for her: “Yesterday my high school sweetheart, the love of my life for over 35 years, the loving mother of our four children, the smartest kindest woman I ever knew, my beautiful and wise queen forever, Rhonda went to Heaven. Thank you for your prayers for our family in this difficult time.”
The remarriage of Rep. Thomas Massie illustrates a poignant transition in his life, moving from a period of grief into a hopeful new beginning alongside a partner who shares his values and journey. As he campaigns for re-election, Massie’s personal narrative of resilience and love may resonate with many of his supporters.
This latest chapter underscores both the challenges and joys that life presents. As he navigates his responsibilities in public office, Massie’s renewed personal life reflects a balance of professional ambition and personal fulfillment.
