On October 28, 2025, President Donald Trump delivered a compelling address at a Business Leaders Dinner in Tokyo, evoking a largely overlooked episode from history. He stated, “A lot of people don’t know that about General Douglas MacArthur!” During his speech, Trump recalled how MacArthur single-handedly authored Japan’s Constitution following World War II. Critics swiftly ridiculed Trump’s remarks. Nevertheless, he was essentially correct.
