It’s astonishing that he would ask for that number without having proven himself yet. I’m quite glad that LT turned him down.”

Edelman followed up by asking Gronkowski what Bill Belichick, who served as the Giants’ defensive coordinator during Taylor’s prime, might say to Carter if he made a similar request.

Gronkowski launched into an amusing impression of Belichick. He mimicked, “Nope, no buddy. There’s only one LT, and you aren’t him. You’re nowhere near his level. Now, how about you get out of my office and focus on your playbook? You haven’t accomplished anything yet. You’ll be wearing No. 62 for being so presumptuous.”
