Robert Kraft Unites Sports Leaders to Tackle Antisemitism Through Blue Square Alliance

Robert Kraft witnessed the tragic events of the 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, which left a profound impact. This disturbing incident marked the beginning of a series of violent attacks on Jewish communities, culminating with the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack in Israel. In response, Kraft is stepping up to fight against antisemitism and other forms of hatred by founding The Blue Square Alliance Against Hate.

As Kraft asserts, there is no place for such violence in society. He believes that sports can play a crucial role in uniting individuals and inspiring them to combat hate.

During an exclusive interview, Kraft emphasized the impactful role of sports leagues in promoting positive messaging. He stated that sporting events serve as a gathering point for people from diverse backgrounds, all cheering for their home teams together.

“It’s a unique environment where people come together,” Kraft shared. “Unfortunately, I have noticed an alarming rise in hate across the United States, a trend we must challenge. We need the sports community to take a stand. Wearing the blue square symbolizes our commitment to unity, brotherhood, and love.”

The Blue Square Alliance showcased its mission during a significant event comprised of sports leaders, athletes, and professional club owners from the NBA, NFL, Major League Baseball, NASCAR, and other organizations.

The gathering took place at Gillette Stadium, the home of Kraft’s New England Patriots. Here, the alliance hosted informative sessions aimed at helping sports leaders comprehend the increasing prevalence of antisemitism both locally and globally.

Among the discussions were topics addressing the historical partnership between Black and Jewish communities, which has recently faced challenges. Additionally, they explored how athletes have overcome hate.
