Kraft highlighted three recent events that he believes exemplify a troubling trend. These include an arson attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s residence, the murders of two Israeli Embassy employees near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., and a violent incident in Colorado targeting those rallying in support of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
“There have been three events that have really shaken me up,” Kraft told CNN’s Kaitlin Collins. He expressed deep concern over the failure to directly classify these incidents as antisemitic acts. Kraft emphasized, “We need people to speak up and call it for what it is.”
He noted the arson attack on Governor Shapiro, calling it a major indication of the rising tide of hatred. Furthermore, he spoke about the Colorado incident that occurred on Sunday, which the FBI described as a targeted terror attack. This rise in antisemitic violence in the U.S. has been distressing since the onset of 2025.
“The hesitation to label these events as antisemitism is troubling,” Kraft said. “A commentator on your show just said it was antisemitism right from the start, and I couldn’t agree more.”
Adding to his concerns, Kraft mentioned that the media and political leaders seem hesitant to confront antisemitism head-on. “We have let this go on, and it’s happening on college campuses now for quite a long time,” he stated, urging a more forthright approach to discussing these serious issues.
