Roseanne Barr Embraces Life in Texas After Tractor Mishap

Roseanne Barr Thrives in Texas Despite Tractor Incident

At 72, Roseanne Barr embraces her dream of living in Texas, embracing the simpler joys of rural life even after a recent mishap involving her tractor.

In a candid chat with Fox News Digital, the iconic comedian and actress shared insights into her new lifestyle and the challenges she has faced since relocating to the Lone Star State. Barr reflects on her love for being outdoors and highlights how it contributes to her well-being.

Barr describes her Texan experience as a fulfilling journey. However, she recently encountered a frightening incident while operating her tractor. While mowing her expansive property, she accidentally knocked over a tree, which then fell atop her and trapped her beneath its weight.

“I’m doing a lot of mowing lately. I’ve got a fantastic tractor to work with, but I’ve not been as careful with the trees as I should. I keep hitting them, and they often fall on me,” Barr remarked humorously, despite her recent injuries.

She continued to explain the details of the incident, revealing, “Just two nights ago, I knocked over a large branch that landed right on my head, trapping me in the tractor. I knew then that I had to act fast, and that branch probably weighed around a hundred pounds.”

With her characteristic grit, Barr recounted how she spent an hour moving the heavy tree “inch by inch” until she could finally free herself. Her account reflects both her determination and resilience in the face of adversity.

Finding Strength in Adversity

Despite the frightening experience, Barr remains proud of her ability to overcome challenges. “I was aware of my age, thinking, ‘I’m 72 years old,’ but I relied on my faith. I prayed, saying, ‘Come on God, give me the strength to flip this tree over.’ And I did it!” she added with a proud smile.

Following the incident, Barr has exciting plans for the future. She continues to tend to her 30-acre property, reveling in her connection to the land and the independence that comes with it.

Interestingly, Barr’s son revealed she once contemplated a move to Palm Beach, Florida. However, after experiencing the sweltering heat of one day, Barr humorously declared Texas preferable. “I enjoy it here in Texas. I thought about Florida, but after one oppressive day in the sun, I said, ‘I’d rather burn in hell than endure that! It’s just too hot. I’d at least like to smoke a cigarette in the summer, something I couldn’t do there,'” she noted with a laugh.

Upcoming Documentary Highlights Barr’s Journey

In addition to her personal endeavors, Barr is preparing for the premiere of her upcoming documentary titled “Roseanne Barr is America,” set for release on June 10. The film aims to share her unique story while offering insights into her remarkable career in comedy and television.

Reflecting on her journey, Barr stated, “My life mirrors the American experience. I went from poverty to wealth through comedy, which resonates with many, particularly in my generation as a minority who found a voice through humor.”

Barr made headlines in 2012 when she ran for president as a socialist candidate against then-President Barack Obama. However, her 2018 tweet about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett led to major backlash, resulting in her show’s cancellation. Barr expressed regret over the incident and has since attempted to articulate her remorse.

During her tumultuous time, she sought solace in faith, stating, “I feel like I’ve apologized and asked for forgiveness. I’m saddened by how people perceive me; I never wanted to cause harm to anyone.”

Reflections on Past Relationships

In a recent interview, Barr candidly revealed that she no longer keeps in touch with her former co-stars from the iconic show that boosted her career. “No, I’m not friends with any of them anymore. I hold no bitterness, and while I recall our joyful moments fondly, I’ve moved on from that chapter in my life,” she admitted.

Barr’s strong opinions about her past experiences were also evident. She expressed her disappointment towards how things unraveled, calling the actions of others involved misguided. “What a shame, especially considering the enjoyment we all shared while working together. I still wish them well, but I cannot overlook the way it all ended,” she concluded.

In discussing the infamous tweet that led to her downfall, Barr shared, “Posting that tweet was impulsive. After realizing I had been wronged and my show was taken from me, I decided to go out with a bang. I wanted to speak out against the Obama administration’s Iran deal, perhaps regrettably so.”

Looking Ahead

As she looks forward to the future, Barr acknowledges her desire to remain true to herself while navigating public perception. She understands the delicate balancing act required to maintain her comedic voice while remaining relatable. “Sometimes, I have too many thoughts that go over people’s heads. I’ve learned it’s best to keep my ideas simple and grounded rather than overly complex,” she shared, demonstrating a thoughtful perspective.
