Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Discusses Life in London After Moving from Los Angeles

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shared insights into her transition from Los Angeles to London, emphasizing her commitment to family life. The model has made raising her children her top priority, believing that London offers an ideal environment for her family.

The couple, which includes actor Jason Statham, relocated in 2020 after welcoming their son in 2017 and their daughter in 2022. Huntington-Whiteley describes this move as a pivotal moment in her family’s journey.

A Commitment to Family Values

In an interview with The Times, Huntington-Whiteley expressed her views on education and upbringing. She stated, “We love the schools, the education. They’re growing up British with their little British accents, which was important for us.” She emphasized the benefits of living close to family, noting that Statham’s parents live nearby and her family visits regularly.

Huntington-Whiteley values the experiences her children gain during seasonal trips to Devon. She fondly recalls her own childhood running around the farm, making it a special tradition for her children.

The Adjustment to a New Life

Despite her excitement about the move, the transition was not without challenges. Huntington-Whiteley admitted that she felt settled in LA and initially missed the incessant sunshine. However, she has since embraced her new life in London, stating, “But now I love it here.”

Work-Life Balance for Jason Statham

Another significant factor influencing their relocation was Statham’s desire to spend more quality time with his family. Huntington-Whiteley shared, “He was like, ‘I’m going to be away from you and the kids for big stretches [shooting movies]. If we move to London, I can make everything there.’” She acknowledged how this change has allowed Statham to return home at the end of each day, maximizing their family time together.

She added, “Jason is a very involved and super-hands-on dad and such a supportive partner to me.” Statham’s playful nature and active involvement in their children’s lives earned him the affectionate nickname “the human playground” from Huntington-Whiteley.

She elaborated, “He’s constantly got the kids on his back, rolling around. The man has insane amounts of energy, it’s boundless. He’s a big kid himself but also an upbeat reinforcement and positive influence on them.” She expressed gratitude for the support and love Statham offers, affirming that she can focus on her work without worries.

Enduring Partnership Without Rush to Marry

Huntington-Whiteley and Statham have been together since 2010, yet they are in no hurry to formalize their relationship through marriage. Their connection is built on shared values, allowing them to thrive as a couple over the years.

When reflecting on their relationship, she said, “I’m committed to my family. I value the family unit, and he’s just been such an incredible person in my life. We take each day as it comes.” The couple embodies a spirit of love, fun, and humor, approaching their relationship with patience and understanding.

Marriage is Not a Priority

Although they became engaged in 2016, for Huntington-Whiteley, marriage has not been a crucial goal. She noted, “It’s not something that’s ever been massively important to me. Throwing a big, fancy wedding is not something I feel is necessary at this point in my life.” If they do eventually marry, she envisions a low-key celebration.

Embracing Change as a Mother

Having welcomed two children, Huntington-Whiteley has gained a fresh perspective on life and motherhood. She openly admits the challenges she faced post-pregnancy, saying, “You’ve aged, you’ve stretched, things are not sitting where they used to.” After her journey through motherhood, she acknowledges that returning to her previous self took time.

“My twenties were fun, but then you get older, wiser, and a little more roughed up,” the now 38-year-old model reflected on her growth. Huntington-Whiteley has found value in the parenting journey, stating, “The journey is more important than the destination. The process has to be enjoyable because life is really short.”

A New Chapter with Family at the Forefront

As her children grow, Huntington-Whiteley remains focused on creating positive experiences for her family in London. Her decision to move was rooted in her desire for a nurturing environment enriched by family ties and educational opportunities.

Through her journey, she has navigated the complexities of family dynamics and personal growth. With Statham’s unwavering support and her commitment to family, Huntington-Whiteley is setting the stage for a fulfilling life in London, where every moment is an opportunity for joy.
