Franklin Graham’s humanitarian organization, Samaritan’s Purse, has launched its first cargo airlift of food and essential supplies to families in Gaza, which has been severely affected by ongoing violence. On Friday, a Boeing 767 departed from Greensboro, North Carolina, loaded with 290,000 packets of vitamin-fortified food, thousands of blankets, and solar-powered lights intended for women and children in need.

In a statement provided to Fox News Digital, Graham emphasized the dire circumstances faced by the residents of Gaza. He pointed out that more than 2 million people are presently in urgent need of assistance.
Graham reflected on the atrocities committed by Hamas, describing the situation as grave and noting the traumatizing impact on civilians. He stated, “What Hamas did was horrendous. It was a massacre. Not only did they take 251 innocent civilians hostage from Israel on October 7, but they have also held the entire population of Gaza hostage for 18 years. Hamas must be eliminated.”
Furthermore, the mission of this flight aims to demonstrate compassion amidst chaos and suffering.
Essential Supplies for Families
Graham explained the contents of the shipment, stating, “Today, we are taking over 290,000 packets of food loaded with protein and fortified with vitamins, as well as thousands of solar lights and blankets for families who have lost so much. Pray with us for the people in Gaza that this cargo will be helping.”
Preparation for Departure
The cargo plane launched early Friday morning, marking a pivotal moment for the organization’s aid efforts. Before takeoff, Graham participated in a prayer ceremony with staff and flight crew beside the aircraft, underscoring the significance of this mission.
Edward Graham, who serves as COO of Samaritan’s Purse and is Franklin Graham’s youngest son, characterized Gaza as one of the most difficult operational areas globally. He expressed gratitude for the staff who continue their work despite significant risk.
Ongoing Commitment to Aid
Since the outbreak of conflict nearly two years ago, Samaritan’s Purse has been actively engaged in providing assistance in Gaza. The organization has dispatched medical personnel and emergency supplies, boasting delivery of more than 223 tons of food and over one million meal rations. Medical teams associated with the organization have also treated more than 1,700 patients amid challenging conditions.
This new delivery reinforces the organization’s commitment to focus specifically on children and women—groups disproportionately affected by the ongoing conflict. In addition to food provisions, the cargo shipment included a total of 12,000 solar-powered lanterns and blankets to support families experiencing loss or displacement.
Global Relief Strategy
Samaritan’s Purse has a well-established strategy that incorporates its fleet of aircraft to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to some of the most devastated regions worldwide. Recent examples include deploying mobile field hospitals to Ukraine and supplying emergency kits in Sudan, as well as aiding earthquake survivors in Haiti.
The acquisition of the Boeing 767 significantly enhances the group’s operational reach, allowing for larger aid shipments while reducing the number of required flights.

Franklin Graham highlighted the importance of such investments given the extensive human suffering observed in both Gaza and Israel. He remarked, “This is about showing God’s love to people who are hurting. It’s about ensuring they know they are not forgotten.”
In addition to operations in Gaza, Samaritan’s Purse has also rendered assistance in Israel, where local communities are still reeling from the effects of the October 7 attack and subsequent clashes. The organization has pledged to provide 42 ambulances—28 of which are armored—to Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical services, alongside supporting 11 major construction initiatives that include bomb shelters and ambulance response stations.

The organization’s endeavors have gained recognition, with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee recently commending Disaster Response Organizations for their efficient approach to humanitarian aid. He noted on social media that Samaritan’s Purse stands out as an exceptionally effective disaster response entity globally.
The shipment is anticipated to reach distribution partners on the ground in Gaza in the coming days, with additional flights planned as the situation allows. Franklin Graham assured that the current efforts are only part of a broader commitment. He asserted, “This is not a one-time effort. As long as people are suffering, we will continue to go.”
