A vehicle matching the description of Bryan Kohberger’s was spotted numerous times near the residence in Moscow, Idaho, where four University of Idaho students were tragically found dead. This alarming information comes to light through a recent investigation featured on NBC’s “Dateline”.
Kohberger faces serious allegations of first-degree murder concerning the deaths of university students Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin on November 13, 2022. In addition to murder charges, Kohberger, previously a student at Washington State University, is also accused of one count of felony burglary.
According to reports, FBI cellphone tower data detailed by NBC’s “Dateline” indicates that Kohberger’s phone pinged nearly a dozen times to a nearby tower, which provides coverage to an area within approximately 100 feet of 1122 King Road—the scene of the horrific crime. These late-night excursions reportedly started as early as July 2022 and continued through mid-August.
As outlined in the report, Kohberger’s late-night drives in the vicinity of the King Road house began shortly after he attended a pool party in Moscow. His presence in the area raises questions about his intentions.
In the initial two weeks of October 2022—about a month prior to the murders—records show that Kohberger visited near the same cellphone tower on three additional occasions. Forensic psychologist Gary Brucato provided insight, suggesting these repeated trips could indicate a buildup of nerve or preparation in the lead-up to the tragic events.
FBI cellphone records revealed that Kohberger was near the King Road home on 23 separate occasions in total, with each visit occurring after dark. On the fateful night of November 13, security footage captured a white Hyundai Elantra, resembling Kohberger’s vehicle, turning onto King Road around 3:30 a.m., shortly before the students were killed.
Just three minutes later, the same vehicle was seen leaving King Road before returning just five minutes afterward. This troubling timeline continues with the Elantra making another brief return and a U-turn before speeding away from the vicinity of the crime scene at 4:20 a.m., marking a chaotic sequence of events.
Additional findings from “Dateline” reveal that Kohberger made an important phone call to his father at 6:17 a.m. on that tragic morning, a conversation that lasted an unusual 36 minutes. He reportedly made two other calls to his father that same morning, which adds to the growing timeline of evidence.
Notably, at 9:12 a.m. on November 13, Kohberger allegedly returned to the King Road area, remaining there for about nine minutes before heading back to his apartment in Pullman, Washington. This timing raises many questions regarding his movements following the murders.
At approximately 10:31 a.m., Kohberger’s phone registered with a tower serving Clarkston, Washington, and Lewiston, Idaho. Law enforcement officials believe he could potentially have been discarding critical evidence related to the case, such as clothing or a weapon used in the crimes.
Investigative journalist Howard Blume spoke to the absence of any documented interactions between Kohberger and the victims, highlighting that despite thorough investigations, no evidence of prior communication has surfaced.
In a chilling twist, records obtained by “Dateline” indicate that Kohberger conducted an internet search for Ted Bundy on August 16, 2022. His interest extended to reading research papers about Bundy, raising concerns about his mental state and potential motivations.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Kohberger’s legal representation for comments regarding the ongoing investigations and the recent revelations from the data.
This evolving investigation continues to capture public interest as more information becomes available. The troubling patterns of behavior and cellphone records may play a significant role in understanding the circumstances surrounding this tragic case. With the clock ticking, the legal implications and the pursuit of justice remain a critical focal point for the affected families and the wider community.
