This is why I am running for Congress. No one fights harder than a mother for her children, and I will bring that same intensity to fight for all families in our district. I pledge to never give up.”

In her video announcement, Shaheen also critiqued Elon Musk’s influence on science and healthcare. She alleged that Musk has been undermining the efforts of some of the nation’s top scientists and medical professionals. Furthermore, she accused Bobby Kennedy Jr. of enabling the resurgence of measles outbreaks by spreading conspiracy theories in opposition to established vaccination practices.

The National Republican Congressional Committee did not hold back in their response to Shaheen’s candidacy. They labeled her a product of political nepotism, referring to her as a “nepo baby” and arguing that she represents the elitism that is often criticized within Democratic circles. NRCC spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole voiced their concerns, asserting, “Granite Staters will strongly reject her and the out-of-touch policies associated with her family’s political legacy, which contribute to higher living costs and decreased safety.”
