Stephen Collins, known for his role in the popular series ‘7th Heaven,’ is reportedly living with a partner who is 40 years his junior. This development comes on the heels of renewed scrutiny surrounding his past sexual misconduct involving underage girls, which has had an enduring impact on his career.
The scandal that marred Collins’ reputation has been spotlighted in the Investigation Discovery series “Hollywood Demons.” In the upcoming episode, which features commentary from renowned physician Dr. Drew Pinsky, several figures discuss the troubling allegations against the actor. One notable segment includes a chilling recount from April Price, who accuses Collins of exposing himself to her multiple times when she was just 13 years old.
According to an exclusive preview shared with Fox News Digital prior to its airing, the episode offers a glimpse into the current life of Collins, who has been largely absent from public view since the allegations emerged.
Dr. Pinsky reveals in the episode that Collins now shares his life with a woman identified as a superfan. “She was a superfan,” he remarks, emphasizing the significant age difference. He continues, “Given what we know about his history, this certainly raises an eyebrow. Let’s hope he can commit to this woman and not perpetrate on others.” Such provocative statements add further intrigue to an already complex narrative.
The past cast members of “7th Heaven” also weigh in, sharing their thoughts on the allegations during the episode. Jeremy London, one of the actors from the show, reflects on what it felt like to first learn of the accusations against their former colleagues.
In an intriguing behind-the-scenes look, producers of the episode reached out to over 100 individuals with ties to Collins. However, almost all declined to participate or failed to respond, leading to a solitary environment for commentary. A producer expressed in a voice-over that their efforts yielded cooperation primarily from men willing to share their professional experiences related to the disgraced actor.
People magazine reported that Collins’ much younger partner is named Jenny Nagel. In a 2019 feature, it was noted that Collins and Nagel had tied the knot in a small, intimate ceremony in Iowa, where both of them reside. The couple reportedly shares a mutual interest in transcendental meditation and are often seen attending daily sessions together.
During 2014, shocking audio was released that purportedly contained Collins confessing to acts of sexual misconduct with underage girls. This recording, made during a counseling session in 2012, was leaked by the actor’s estranged wife to law enforcement agencies. It subsequently found its way to various media outlets, tarnishing Collins’ career and leading to the withdrawal of “7th Heaven” reruns from cable television.
Faye Grant, Collins’ ex-wife, claimed she provided the audio to law enforcement only after he refused to pursue proper treatment for his actions, although she denied giving it to TMZ herself.
In a lengthy statement to People magazine, Collins acknowledged that he had committed serious wrongdoing, admitting to inappropriate behavior with three minor girls between 1973 and 1994. He stated, “Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret.” Collins mentioned that he has been working to make amends ever since. In his account, he noted that the audio recording led to unwarranted assumptions about his past, clarifying that the events described took place many years ago.
Collins continued, “I did have an opportunity to do so with one of the women, 15 years later. I apologized, and she was extraordinarily gracious.” He refrained from contacting the other two women, citing concerns that such actions might reopen their wounds.
It is believed that Collins apologized to Price, who has remained the only one among his accusers to publicly share her story.
Following his confession, Collins participated in a televised interview with Katie Couric in 2014. During this interview, he denied being a pedophile, describing himself instead as suffering from “exhibitionist urges” and “poor impulse control.” He vehemently stated, “I’m absolutely not attracted to children. I’m just not.” His focus on his treatment and personal struggles underscores a man grappling with his past while striving for redemption.
Despite attempting to keep a low profile, Collins remains a controversial figure, with Price expressing outrage over his interview with Couric. She remarked that it ignited a fiery response within her, compelling her to break her silence. Price stated, “It was infuriating… I could have sat there and never said another word about it. And then he gave that interview to Katie Couric and downplayed it.” Her decision to reach out to the LAPD came after hearing the leaked audio, even though she understood that the statute of limitations had expired.
As a mother, Price reflects on her motivations for speaking out. In her conversation with Fox News Digital, she expressed a desire for her own child to be able to confide in her if they ever felt uncomfortable or threatened. By coming forward, Price hopes that she can inspire others in similar situations to find their voice and share their stories.
In light of her experiences, Price aims to uplift others who might feel too intimidated to address uncomfortable truths in their lives.
