FIRST ON FOX: A new study released this week sheds light on the significant extent to which Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies have been integrated into the federal government under President Biden. The findings serve as a useful resource for the Trump administration, which seeks to identify and eliminate these practices.
Conducted by the Functional Government Initiative alongside the Center for Renewing America, the study reveals that 460 programs across 24 government agencies have redirected resources towards DEI initiatives.
Remarkably, the analysis estimates that at least $1 trillion of taxpayer funds have been allocated to DEI-driven projects, indicating a substantial financial commitment to these principles.
The research illuminates the implementation of DEI across multiple federal agencies. For example, the Defense Department is pursuing plans to integrate environmental and economic justice into its training. Meanwhile, FEMA emphasizes the need to embed equity within emergency management efforts, and the Labor Department aims to recognize diverse identities in its initiatives.
Upon taking office, President Biden signed Executive Order 13985, which was designed to advance the goals of equity and racial justice throughout the federal landscape. The directive mandated a comprehensive approach to embedding DEI philosophy into federal budgeting and spending.
The study asserts that this executive order prompted the Biden administration to funnel trillions into DEI initiatives at a pace that obscured the associated economic burden from the public.
The research details the remarkable spending on DEI initiatives over the past four years, with claims that the cumulative budget for these programs exceeds $1.1 trillion. However, the authors caution that this estimate does not capture all DEI-related expenditures, nor does it represent every program across the analyzed agencies.
This substantial spending increase chiefly stems from the policy directives of the current administration, catalyzing a reallocation of focus and resources.
Of the identified programs, 10 are dedicated solely to DEI and could be considered for immediate elimination. Furthermore, 144 programs allocate considerable resources to these initiatives, necessitating a review to determine their viability. Lastly, 306 programs exhibit varying degrees of DEI incorporation, though the specifics remain unclear based on existing documentation.
The report delivers a department-by-department breakdown of DEI programs while offering actionable recommendations on how these initiatives should be scrutinized and addressed.
Wade Miller, a senior adviser at the Center for Renewing America, expressed a strong stance on the issue, declaring that DEI is ingrained in all aspects of federal functions and should be entirely eradicated.
Miller noted that the Trump administration is already undertaking a critical audit of all federal programs. In this report, he hopes to provide essential tools and resources for the incoming administration and Congress to identify, eliminate, and ensure the permanent removal of DEI principles from the federal government.
FGI spokesman Roderick Law articulated the objective behind this dual study, suggesting it could facilitate the swift eradication of DEI from executive branches and highlight how rapidly these ideologies can permeate governmental structures.
Law emphasized the divisive and anti-American nature of DEI. He questioned why such an approach should be enforced in military, commerce, or environmental protection sectors, positing that the funding allocated under President Biden must be closely examined to prevent future incursions of similar ideologies.
The Trump administration has prioritized the elimination of DEI from federal administrative functions. Executives have signed several orders aimed at counteracting what they describe as a detrimental practice that undermines merit-based principles.
As the debate continues, Fox News Digital has reached out to the Biden administration for a response regarding these significant findings.
