The star of Euphoria has revealed her dedication to the part by gaining 35 pounds and undergoing rigorous training, reminiscent of a professional athlete. Sweeney plays Christy Martin, a pioneering female boxer, in the biopic, which highlights the struggles and triumphs of women in sports.
In her native Idaho, Sweeney transformed her grandmother’s backyard into a personal gym. She shared details of her experience during an interview with Good Morning America. Sweeney stated, “I turned her shed into my ‘Rocky’ gym. I put flooring in and boxing bags, and I brought my trainers up there. Every single day, I would weight train in the morning and night, then I’d box for two or three hours a day. It was so much fun.”

However, the physical demands of the role also inflicted some injuries. “We were knocking each other out, we were getting bloody noses, I got a concussion,” she admitted.
