Last week, officials coordinated a dramatic rescue operation after a teenager was bitten by a timber rattlesnake while on a fishing trip deep in the woods of western North Carolina. The harrowing incident unfolded in Avery County, capturing the attention of local authorities and wildlife enthusiasts alike.

The State Emergency Operations Center quickly dispatched a Black Hawk helicopter from the North Carolina National Guard to assist in the rescue. Rescue technicians from the Charlotte Fire Department were also called to the scene, showcasing the collaborative efforts of various agencies during emergencies.

In a statement shared on Facebook on June 5, North Carolina Emergency Management confirmed the successful rescue. The victim, identified as Zain Shah, received immediate medical treatment following the incident and was airlifted to safety.
