A witness at a recent congressional hearing regarding unidentified aerial phenomena disclosed a startling claim: In 1982, an unexplained aerial object allegedly caused panic within the Russian military.

George Knapp, an investigative journalist, shared his findings during a session of the House Oversight subcommittee focusing on UAPs. He indicated that in the 1990s he acquired Soviet documents which suggested a UFO incident nearly instigated World War III. The documents reportedly showed that in 1982, UFOs hovered near an intercontinental ballistic missile base in the Soviet Union, creating a tense confrontation.

Knapp elaborated on the incident, stating, “In October 1982, UFOs were observed over an ICBM base. The missiles were aimed at the United States.” He presented this information to the House Oversight Committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets.

Describing the UFOs, Knapp said they displayed extraordinary capabilities. “These UFOs performed incredible maneuvers,” he asserted. “They split apart, then fused back together, appearing and disappearing at will. At the end of a four-hour episode, the launch control codes for the ICBMs activated. Something entered the correct codes, prepping the missiles for launch, and personnel were unable to deactivate them.”

As tension rose, Knapp recounted how Russian military officers reacted with alarm. Ultimately, the UFOs vanished, and the launch control systems returned to normal.

Knapp noted that personnel then faced a mystery about the nature of the disturbance. They didn’t link the incident to electromagnetic pulses or power surges, dismissing the misleading explanations often provided by the United States in similar circumstances involving their own nuclear capabilities. Instead, he emphasized that they perceived this as a message from an unknown source.

“That brings chills. We were moments away from entering World War III, and it was tied to these UFOs,” Knapp remarked, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Nuccetelli, recalling the chaotic moments, stated that his radio crackled with urgency as a friend shouted, “It’s coming right at us! It’s coming right for us!” Moments later, he reported, they heard that the object shot off and vanished.

Additionally, Chief Alexandro Wiggins, an active-duty U.S. Navy officer, testified about the infamous Tic Tac incident. He noted that the UAP exhibited no identifiable signs of conventional propulsion during its departure.

Although the origins of these peculiar objects remain uncertain, discussions among lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee’s task force revealed a strong desire for answers. Many committee members expressed concern over the lack of transparency surrounding UAP phenomena.
