Texas Man Calls 911 After Injuring Himself in Car Dealership Burglary Attempt

In a bizarre turn of events, a Texas man inadvertently foiled his own burglary attempt when he called 911 seeking medical assistance after injuring himself. Law enforcement officials reported that the attempted break-in occurred at a car dealership in Tyler during the early hours of Thursday.

According to the Tyler Police Department, Jeremiah Megallon is now in custody following his 911 call in which he stated he had cut himself while trying to break into the Patterson Dodge dealership. Police received the call at approximately 3:45 a.m. from Megallon, who admitted he had just attempted to unlawfully enter the dealership in pursuit of a vehicle.

Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh provided additional details about the incident to Fox News Digital, noting that Megallon expressed that he was unable to escape the premises. During his attempted entrance, he suffered cuts from breaking a window.

“He reported that he broke into the Patterson Dodge dealership to steal a car but found himself trapped inside the building,” Erbaugh explained. “He sustained injuries from crawling through the glass after throwing a rock through the window.”
