The Texas Longhorns have made a bold move by hiring Sean Miller as their new head basketball coach, following a disappointing NCAA Tournament exit.

As part of Terry’s severance, Texas will pay him $5.4 million, which aligns with the buyout stipulation of his five-year contract. He signed this contract after leading the Longhorns to an Elite Eight appearance in the 2022-23 season, only to fall short against No. 2 Miami.
In a statement, Terry expressed gratitude for his time at the University of Texas. He highlighted his appreciation for the players and coaches who contributed to the team’s success, stating, “I am so appreciative to have served the University of Texas and our men’s basketball program for 13 seasons. It was a dream of mine to be the head coach of the Longhorns, and I’ve been able to live that dream. I want to thank all of our coaches and current and former players who not only helped us win a lot of games, but more importantly represented this great university in a first-class manner.”
