In his post, Musk expressed gratitude, stating, “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.” This statement reflects Musk’s commitment to the agency’s objectives even as he departs.
Since its inception, Musk has been the public face of DOGE, following an executive order signed by President Trump on January 20. The agency focused on tackling issues of overspending, corruption, and fraud across multiple federal departments.
A senior official from the White House informed Fox News Digital that even after Musk’s departure, DOGE will continue to function normally. The official emphasized that the agency has become an integral part of the federal government, deeply embedded in its operations.
The official further highlighted that DOGE now spans nearly every federal agency, tasked solely with cutting waste, fraud, and abuse to enhance efficiency. The agency’s dedicated employees will report to their respective department heads while executing the president’s agenda.
