A newlywed woman’s life took a heartbreaking turn when her husband and one-year-old daughter tragically lost their lives in a fiery head-on collision while heading home from their honeymoon.
Leigh Ann Payne-Weisser, Macey’s mother, shared the devastating news on Facebook, stating, “Macey, Hunter, and Oakleigh were in a horrific car accident yesterday on their way home from their honeymoon in Pigeon Forge.” This post brought to light the tragic circumstances surrounding their return.
Macey sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the burn unit at the University of Louisville Hospital for urgent treatment. Kentucky State Police reported that the fatal crash occurred on July 26. A Ford F-150, driven by 48-year-old Joseph Maynard of Owensboro, veered into oncoming traffic on Kentucky Route 261 for reasons still under investigation. This unfortunate maneuver led to a severe collision with a Chevrolet Silverado.
