Tragic Incident at Universal Orlando Reveals Fatality Linked to Popular Ride

The identity and cause of death of a 70-year-old woman have been disclosed weeks after she tragically passed away following a ride on Universal Orlando’s Revenge of the Mummy coaster. This incident has raised concerns about rider safety at popular amusement parks.

Details of the Incident

The woman became unresponsive while enjoying the indoor attraction on November 25, 2025, as detailed in a report by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Witnesses reported that the ride was thrilling, yet tension filled the air when she suddenly lost consciousness.

She has been identified as Ma de la Luz Mejia Rosas. The information was confirmed by the office of civil rights lawyer Ben Crump, who stated that he has been retained by Rosas’ family to seek clarity on the sequence of events leading to her death.

Medical Response Following the Incident

Immediately after losing consciousness, Rosas was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she passed away on December 9 at Orlando Regional Medical Center due to a ruptured aneurysm, which was determined to occur without any trauma. This finding surfaced from a report by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office that was obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.

Crump expressed the family’s grief in a statement, emphasizing their expectation for a safe outing. He stated that the family is now left with questions regarding the circumstances surrounding this heart-wrenching incident. He pledged to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that their voices are amplified in the search for answers.
