Coast Guard crews, including boat and helicopter units, along with local law enforcement and fire agencies, initiated a search for the victims following the crash. This operation lasted around 13 hours, covering 346 miles of search territory across an area of about 100 square miles, according to U.S. Coast Guard officials.
The first body was recovered by a fire boat crew just after 3 a.m. on Sunday morning. Divers subsequently located the remaining two victims trapped within the fuselage between 6:30 a.m. and 9:10 a.m.
The National Transportation Safety Board has begun investigating the cause of the crash to determine what led to this devastating incident.
