McCaffrey commented, “Could he play receiver? Absolutely, he’s athletic enough to do it. However, he might need to refine his route running and enhance his offensive skill set compared to his defensive skills.”

Many NFL teams eyeing Hunter seem to prefer his contributions as a cornerback. McCaffrey said, “Most teams interested in drafting him envision him as a shut-down, lockdown left corner capable of neutralizing the leading receivers in games.”

“If coaches told me to focus solely on cornerback or wide receiver, I would quit football entirely,” Hunter expressed in a recent interview. “I’ve been playing both my whole life, and I love every moment on the field. I believe I can excel and dominate at both positions, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge.”

Impressive College Statistics

During the last season, Hunter showcased his dual talents remarkably well, participating in a staggering 713 snaps on offense while also contributing 748 snaps on defense. His productivity remained impressive amidst this hefty workload.

He tallied 96 receptions for 1,258 yards, netting 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver. In tandem, he recorded 35 tackles, four interceptions, 11 passes defended, and one forced fumble as a cornerback.
