Trump Abruptly Ends CNN Interview Over Epstein Inquiry

A CNN reporter revealed that President Donald Trump abruptly hung up during a phone interview on Tuesday. The discussion revolved around resurfaced images of the notorious predator Jeffrey Epstein.

CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski, who conducted the interview, stated that the conversation lasted about 30 seconds. When he brought up the controversial wedding photo of Epstein at Trump’s 1993 wedding, the president reacted strongly. Kaczynski recounted, “He paused briefly, exclaimed, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’ and labeled CNN as ‘fake news’ before disconnecting the call.”

This encounter marks another point of contention as Trump navigates public scrutiny regarding his past associations.

Epstein’s Presence at Trump’s Wedding

Kaczynski’s report highlighted uncovered archival footage and photographs that document the ties between Trump and Epstein during the 1990s. Among these was a well-known image of Epstein attending Trump’s wedding to Marla Maples in 1993.

Additionally, the report featured video footage from a Victoria’s Secret fashion show in New York in 1999, where Epstein and Trump can be seen interacting amicably.

Also part of the report were photographs showing Trump alongside his children and Epstein at the Harley Davidson Café opening in New York, an event captured by photographer Dafydd Jones in 1993.

Kaczynski pointed out that the newly surfaced images, which pre-date Epstein’s known legal challenges, arrive at a time of increasing scrutiny surrounding Trump’s previous relationship with Epstein. He noted that these images were traced through Google Images and Shutterstock, a major online archive for licensed images.

The Reactions and Political Fallout

This incident is part of a larger pattern of scrutiny faced by Trump regarding his past connections to Epstein. A profile piece published in New York Magazine in 2002 quoted Trump praising Epstein, stating, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with.”

Despite that former relationship, Trump claimed in 2019 that he had experienced a falling out with Epstein roughly 15 years earlier. He noted that they stopped communicating around the time Epstein was arrested in 2006 on charges of sexually abusing underage girls, with a subsequent federal arrest in 2019 for sex trafficking.

To downplay public interest in the so-called ‘Epstein files’, Trump has recently categorized discussions about them as a hoax and a waste of time.

Renewed Scrutiny and Responses

Following Epstein’s controversial death in his jail cell in 2019, conspiracy theories emerged, suggesting his passing was a cover-up to protect influential figures implicated in his activities involving underage girls.

This month has seen intensified scrutiny of Trump’s ties to Epstein, coinciding with the release of a memo by the Justice Department and FBI. The memo concluded that Epstein died by suicide and indicated no known
