The initiative has attracted substantial financial backing, with OpenAI, Softbank, Oracle, and various partners contributing a hefty $500 million. This investment will facilitate the creation of an extensive network of campuses, each designed to operate at approximately 1 gigawatt (GW) or higher. In a recent press briefing reported by Fox News Digital, OpenAI revealed that construction on the initial site in Abilene, Texas is currently underway. The organization is also in the process of exploring additional venues, with 16 other states being considered for future expansion.
