President Donald Trump wrapped up a significant week in the United Kingdom, where he finalized a groundbreaking tech deal. He is now preparing to travel to Arizona for the memorial service of the influential conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
During his visit, Trump and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a substantial $350 billion technology investment plan. This ambitious initiative aims to generate approximately 15,000 new jobs in the U.K. and up to 2,500 positions in the United States.
Details about the so-called Tech Prosperity Deal remain limited. However, officials revealed plans for significant investments, including the development of 12 advanced nuclear reactors. The energy produced from these reactors is intended to meet the growing energy needs of both the U.K. and the U.S.
Starmer emphasized the importance of this deal, stating, “It’s a blueprint to win this new era together. We must shape it according to our shared values and seize the incredible opportunities that lie ahead.” He further highlighted the involvement of major corporations like Nvidia, OpenAI, Google, and Salesforce in backing high-tech jobs in Britain for years to come.
The Tech Prosperity Deal is poised to deliver an estimated $50 billion in economic value. According to Trump, this investment will provide energy for as many as 1.5 million homes in both nations. The commitment to job creation and energy production underscores a growing collaboration between the two allied countries.
In a state dinner held at Windsor Castle, Trump underscored the enduring relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. He shared moments with members of the U.K. royal family, including King Charles III. Trump noted the historical bond that connects the two nations, referencing a bust of Winston Churchill located in the Oval Office.
“His Majesty spoke eloquently about the bond which inspired Sir Winston Churchill,” Trump remarked. “To coin the phrase ‘special relationship’ proves inadequate from an American perspective. We are united by history, fate, and profound cultural ties that transcend time and geography.”
Following his commitments in the U.K., Trump returned to Washington on Thursday before heading to Arizona for Kirk’s memorial service, scheduled for Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. This venue, with a capacity to accommodate over 63,000 people, is expected to draw significant attention.
Charlie Kirk, who tragically died during a stop on his American Comeback Tour on September 10 at Utah Valley University, was known for his strong advocacy for youth engagement in conservative politics. His untimely death has raised concerns about security, especially amid reports of two assassination attempts against Trump in 2024.
Federal law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, have been closely monitoring security concerns related to the memorial service. A senior administration official confirmed to Fox News Digital that a report was released, detailing potential threats against Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and others expected to attend the event.
The memorial could serve as a target for violent extremists or individuals acting alone because of the significant media attention anticipated. Such assessments reflect the heightened sensitivities around public events involving prominent political figures.
As Trump prepares for the memorial service, he expressed that he intends to speak during the event. He shared, “It’s going to be big. I’ll be at the stadium, and I will say a few words. Kirk was an amazing guy, passionate about empowering young people and helping them get started in life.”
Trump’s presence and remarks at this moment of remembrance for Kirk reflect his ongoing engagement with conservative movements and his commitment to honoring fellow activists.
