In a recent Cabinet meeting, President Donald Trump addressed his relationship with tech mogul Elon Musk. Despite their earlier differences sparked by the controversial One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Trump expressed ongoing fondness for Musk.
During the meeting, FOX Business reporter Edward Lawrence inquired whether Musk had returned to Trump’s inner circle after their notable split. Trump acknowledged, “I really don’t know. I mean, I like Elon a lot.” He took time to commend Musk for his endorsement during the upcoming 2024 campaign while highlighting their differing views on electric-vehicle policies.
In the early days of Trump’s second term, Musk played a prominent role in the White House, essentially serving as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. Earlier this year, the relationship between Trump and Musk further deteriorated when discussions arose concerning the potential elimination of electric vehicle mandates. These mandates directly affected Tesla, Musk’s flagship electric vehicle company. In June, Trump signed several resolutions aimed at dismantling California’s stringent regulations on diesel engines and electric vehicle sales, proclaiming that these actions would effectively
