President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, indicating that severe repercussions may follow if the Islamic Republic refuses to engage in nuclear negotiations. His comments came during a recent press briefing where he emphasized the urgency of dialogue.
“My big preference is that we work it out with Iran, but if we don’t work it out, bad things are gonna happen to Iran,” Trump stated, underscoring his administration’s hardline stance towards Tehran.
Currently, Iran is enriching uranium at a concerning rate of 60%, which is dangerously close to the weapons-grade level of 90%. Experts warn that, without intervention, Iran could potentially develop a nuclear weapon within just a few weeks, should they choose to complete the necessary steps.
In light of impending U.S. sanctions, Iran has showcased a vast underground network of tunnels filled with missiles, launchers, and advanced military technologies. This display appears to be a show of strength in response to external pressures.
A recently released video by Iranian state media features prominent military figures, including Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, as they traverse extensive tunnels nicknamed “Missile City.” This clip, while not independently verified, features ominous background music and hints at the readiness of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to counter threats from the U.S. and its allies.

The situation is further complicated by the United States’ military maneuvers in the Middle East. Recently, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the deployment of a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to work alongside the USS Harry S. Truman’s strike group. This decision comes amid escalating tensions in the region.
Moreover, the U.S. has stationed two B-2 stealth bombers at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, a clear signal directed at both Iran and Yemen’s Houthi militia. These advanced bombers are equipped to carry significant munitions, including 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs, thus heightening the display of force against potential threats.
In an effort to stabilize the situation, Trump previously reached out to Iran through a letter, urging the regime to enter discussions regarding its nuclear program. This communication reflects a desire for a diplomatic resolution amid rising tensions.
Kamal Kharazi, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, disclosed on Thursday that Iran remains open to
