The Transportation Security Administration has issued an important reminder regarding airport security protocols, specifically addressing the misconception around using a Costco membership card as valid identification. Despite their popularity among shoppers, these membership cards do not meet the criteria to be used at security checkpoints.
On social media, the TSA humorously acknowledged America’s fondness for Costco products, stating, “We love hotdogs and rotisserie chickens as much as the next person, but please stop telling people their Costco card counts as a REAL ID because it absolutely does not.” This clarification was issued on Wednesday, highlighting the importance of adhering to the correct identification requirements for travelers.
