US and Israel Withdraw from Ceasefire Negotiations Amid Growing Tensions with Hamas
The United States has officially pulled its delegation from ceasefire negotiations in Doha. This development comes after a similar decision by Israel, further escalating the situation in the region. United States Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, announced the withdrawal amid concerns over Hamas’s intentions during the talks.
Witkoff’s remarks were clear and pointed. “We have decided to bring our team home from Doha for consultations after the latest response from Hamas, which clearly shows a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire in Gaza,” he stated.
Failed Negotiations and Rising Tensions
According to Witkoff, mediators had made considerable efforts to facilitate a peaceful outcome. However, the ongoing actions of Hamas demonstrated a lack of coordination and good faith.
