Emerging allegations surrounding former President Biden’s cognitive abilities have garnered significant attention, following a Republican senator’s shocking assertion. Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri claimed that Biden occasionally became disoriented in a closet within the White House during his presidency.
On Friday’s episode of ‘Hannity,’ Senator Hawley revealed this astonishing account, attributing the information to an unnamed Secret Service whistleblower. This individual, as claimed by Hawley, was part of Biden’s security team.
According to Hawley, the Secret Service member told him, “Biden used to get lost in his closet in the mornings in the White House. The guy was literally stumbling around in his own residence, unable to find his way out of his closet. This behavior is outrageous. We were misled.”
These remarks came as Hawley was investigating the attempted assassination of then-candidate Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania in July. During this tragic incident, a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, resulting in the death of another attendee, Corey Comperatore.
Further complicating matters, Hawley criticized the Biden administration for employing an autopen to sign executive orders, calling it one of the most significant constitutional crises in U.S. history.
“We need to ascertain who officially authorized all those autopen signatures, including pardons and clemencies,” he emphasized, highlighting potential issues of accountability.
Trump also reacted to the allegations regarding the autopen, stating it might become “one of the great scandals of all time.” He indicated disbelief that a competent leader like Biden would willingly endorse many of the executive orders enacted, particularly concerning border policies.
House Republicans, led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, recently initiated an investigation to determine Biden’s mental fitness at the tail end of his presidency. This inquiry arises from concerns about whether the former president was healthy enough to approve the use of the autopen for signing documents. Comer expressed willingness to summon Biden to testify about his cognitive state, should it prove necessary.
In a recent letter, Comer reached out to five of Biden’s closest confidants, including his former White House physician, seeking insights into Biden’s cognitive health during his time in office. Although all five contacts have engaged with the Oversight Committee, Comer has warned he might resort to subpoena power should they refuse to cooperate.
