The White House strongly rebuts allegations that intelligence officials have utilized the encrypted messaging app Signal for transmitting classified information. A statement issued by the National Security Council clarifies that these reports are untrue, labeling them as a bold mischaracterization.
National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes responded directly to media reports suggesting that Mike Waltz, the Trump administration’s National Security Advisor, and his team frequently relied on Signal for sensitive communications involving critical national security issues.
According to Hughes, this narrative aims to mislead the public. He commented, “This is a clear attempt by some in media and the Democrats to obscure the simple truth: The President and his national security team are delivering for the nation by confronting our adversaries and standing with our allies to bring peace through strength.” This affirmation was made during an interview with Fox News Digital.
